Key processes to be performed as part of Railway CCTV design and implementation are:

Understand the location, carry out site surveys, establish draft schematics

Identify the camera requirements, lens types and performance specifications

Define enclosures, IPxx rated housings, sun shields and heaters, as required for each location

Determine the type of camera; fixed, dome, pan tilt and zoom or 360degree units

Assess the camera control and viewing requirements, local or remote/ central, recording, use for evidential purposes, switching and frame rates

Establish the functional and operational requirements of the customer, stakeholders and operators

Evaluate the fixings required for each camera installation and design bespoke mounting brackets, if required

Produce detailed design, testing and installation documentation

Gain Approval for implementation of the design

Complete factory and site acceptance testing
